(Aqaba, Jordan – 30th June 2026)- Aqaba Water Company has signed three agreements for, engineering design and construction supervision, and comprehensive subscribe survey service totaling approximately JOD 1,000,000 under the Non-Revenue Water Program, funded by the U.S. Embassy in Amman.
The first agreement focuses on Qasabet Ma’an District, where the project will restructure and rehabilitate the water network, divide the system into zones, renovate the Al Tahouneh pump station, Samneh and Tahouneh reservoirs, and establish a local SCADA center. Upon completion, the project is expected to serve 45,000 beneficiaries and save 832,000 cubic meters of water annually.
The second agreement addresses the Lajjoun–Al-Ghwair and Al-Sammar/ Ghor Al-Safi water systems in Karak. It includes the construction of new reservoirs, a SCADA center, new transmission pipelines, pump station and additional wells. Combined, these efforts are expected to save 1.3 million cubic meters annually through water loss reduction and deliver an additional 864,000 cubic meters per year Both agreements were awarded to Dar Al Omran Infrastructure and Environment.
The third agreement was awarded to Barium Contracting to conduct a comprehensive customer survey of around 14,000 customers in Ma’an Governorate. This will ensure efficient customer billings and services, support metered reading and identify illegal usage, thus reducing Non-Revenue Water.
These agreements reflect the enduring strategic partnership between Jordan and the United States, advancing shared commitments to water security and sustainable infrastructure across the Kingdom in ways that foster self-reliance.
